PRODUCTNAME
PRODUCTNAME tag should contain the basic name of the product, which contains all the mandatory information corresponding with the selected category. The maximum text length in this tag is limited to 200 characters.
The PRODUCTNAME should not contain any additional information, such as a free gift, case or charger, etc.
The name of the product must not be generic. So, if you include the manufacturer, product line and product number in the product name, the product should be listed fine. If there are product variants that differ in color, dimensions, flavour, quantity, and other attributes, it is necessary to distinguish all these parameters in the product name.
Manufacturer
Each product should include the name of the manufacturer for a clear distinction.
Product number/designation
Electronics must contain a product code that clearly identifies the exact product, including all different parameters such as colour, material, type of display, etc.
Quantity
Products that are sold in a certain quantity as standard do not need to be marked (e.g. Tires 4 pcs., Loudspeakers 2 pcs., etc.). However, if you are selling different quantities and the price comparison would not be relevant, please include the number of pieces in the product name.
Products that are sold by length, weight or volume (fabrics, tablecloths, cables, led tapes, building materials, etc.) must be listed with the appropriate unit in the name. The price must then correspond to the price per unit mentioned in the title.
Colour
Each product variant, e.g. different color of phone, camera, t-shirt, roller skates, stroller, refrigerator, football boots, glasses, etc., must be mentioned in the name.
Designation/type
Products that differ in type must have this stated in the name (e.g. Perfumes – EDT × EDP, Light bulbs – generic × LED, Sofa sets – two × three-seater, etc.).
Dimensions/size
Products such as bedding, beds, carpets, etc., with different size variants (e.g. 90×200) must have it indicated in the name, or in the PRODUCT tag. Products such as bicycles, skis, contact lenses, clothing must have a different size variant in the name.
Annual products
Products that have different characteristics with each new season (e.g. material, pattern, etc.) must have the year mentioned in the name (e.g. sports equipment – bicycles, downhill skis or car seats, strollers, wines, etc.)
Author
Books, maps, textbooks must have a clearly identified author and EAN, or ISBN, in the appropriate tag in the XML feed. E-books must be distinguished by their own category.
Version
Products such as software must include in the name all the attributes of the variant – what edition it is, for how many users, what license, etc.
Pattern
Products such as backpacks, bedding, home accessories, etc. must be distinguished in the name by a pattern according to which users can decide on the given variant.
Flavour
Products such as animal feed, dried meat, sports nutrition, etc. must have a flavour variant distinction in the name.
Material
Products such as furniture must have different variants of the type of material from which the product is made in the name – e.g. oak, spruce, cherry.
Gift wrapping
Products that are gift-wrapped, i.e. in a different package than usual, should have the label indicated in the name, e.g.: Christmas packaging 2021, Valentine packaging, Gift set, etc.
