SHOPTET – adjustments for product pairing

This document will guide you through key settings in your Shoptet e-shop that are essential for correctly pairing products on Heureka and optimizing your XML feeds. You will learn how to effectively manage categories, product names and parameters to achieve maximum visibility and conversion potential.

Setting up categories for the XML Feed

Shoptet has a built-in category tree for Heureka directly within its e-shop administration. This makes it easy to set up categories that will pair with Heureka automatically.

First, you need to enable the categories based on specific segments. In your e-shop administration, open ConnectionsHeurekaCategories. Select the categories that correspond to your e-shop’s assortment and save the page.

The Heureka feed does not transmit information about all categories and subcategories a product is assigned to; it always transmits only the information about the product’s default category. Therefore, you must correctly set the product’s default category, which will then be paired with the Heureka category.

To pair individual categories, go to the detail of a specific category in the ProductsCategories section.

In the category tree, click on the selected category. This will take you to its details, where you can edit it. Go to the Additional settings tab, where you can select the corresponding Heureka category. You can search for categories, or the system may even offer a recommended category.

For correct behavior, you need to pair Heureka categories with all e-shop categories and subcategories that are set as the default for any product. You can also find all default categories by using your own product export.

If a category is used as the default for products for which a single common Heureka category cannot be selected, you can use pairing at the product level.

In this case, go to the detail of the specific product and navigate to the Advanced tab. Under the Category pairing heading, select the corresponding Heureka category from the list. Category pairing at the product level overrides category-level pairing.

You can also pair categories at the product level in bulk using a product import. In your import file, include the “heurekaCategoryId” column and list the Heureka categories using their numerical ID, which you can find in the XML file with the category tree.

Changes will be reflected in the Heureka feed within two hours, and Heureka will import these changes after approximately another two hours. Therefore, after making changes in your e-shop, you must account for the fact that they will not appear on Heureka immediately.

Setting up names for the XML Feed

From Shoptet, the product name is automatically generated for the Heureka feed in the format Brand + Product Name + Variant Name (if the product is set as a variant). If the brand is identical to a string in the product name, it will not be generated in the feed name.

For example, if a product has the name Meopta Binoculars and the brand Meopta, only Meopta Binoculars will be sent to the XML feed. However, if the product’s brand is, for example, Prague products, the feed will send Prague products Meopta Binoculars.

If this name format is not suitable, you can manually adjust it on the product detail page under the Advanced tab by selecting Name in XML feed.

The product name from this field will be transferred not only to the Heureka XML feed but also to all other XML feeds from the e-shop. You can also edit product names in the XML feed in bulk using a product import.

If you need to include the product number in the offer names, you can set this up in ConnectionsHeureka on the XML Feeds tab by checking the option Attach MPN to manufacturer name.

Setting Up Parameters for the XML Feed

Within the Shoptet feed for Heureka, it is possible to generate information from variants, filtering parameters, and descriptive parameters into the product parameters. If you fill in parameters for your products that Heureka supports, you increase the chance of your product being found and also ensure offers are paired into categories where specific parameters are required.

In some cases, a parameter is also essential for the proper functioning of the Heureka Marketplace service.

Enabling the sending of parameters to the feed is simple. In the menu, go to ConnectionsHeureka on the XML Feeds tab.
